DESCRIPTION

Efeta journal started its existence shortly after the historic political changes took place in the Slovak Republic. After Slovakia’s accession to the European Union, our country has witnessed important changes in the approach towards disabled and impaired people being put into practice, including a new possibility to publish information on complex care for these people. Therefore the Association of Special Education in the Slovak Republic started publishing this scientific-professional journal, focusing on complex rehabilitation of people with disabilities and impairments, which is the only journal in Slovakia bringing readers this type of content.

AIMS AND SCOPE

EFETA journal is a scientific-professional journal issued quarterly, publishing peer-reviewed submissions on the topic of complex rehabilitation of people with disabilities and impairments. The journal has several regular sections (Association of special education in the Slovak republic, Studies, From practice, Pioneers of care for handicapped people, From abroad, Book reviews, We introduce you to, etc.). These include original state-of the-art studies of scientific character, scientific articles, survey studies, reports from conferences and study programmes, information about forthcoming conferences, discussions dealing with topical problems and new methods in care for handicapped people in Slovakia and abroad, articles about jubilees of experts evaluating their work and personality, reviews, essays and different topical news.

Different special educational needs are proportionally discussed in articles dealing with mental, hearing, physical and vision disabilities, learning difficulties, speech and behavioral problems.

Subscribers are primarily special educators, social workers, educators working in guidance centers, professionals working in related areas (doctors, psychologists) and all the experts and members of lay public interested in these topics.

The regular supplement to the journal is the EFETA yearly magazine providing information from high-level conferences and information on important results from the theory and practice in the field of complex rehabilitation of people with special educational needs (in the form of scientific and professional monographs).
